Meet: Chris Goetz
Chris Goetz (Montana and Wyoming)
Chris Goetz brings more than three decades of leadership experience in law enforcement, public safety, and government service to Command Sourcing. A U.S. Army Veteran who served in Germany from 1992–1995, Chris continued his service with the Idaho National Guard while working full-time for the Department of Defense before entering civilian law enforcement.
Chris spent 28 years with the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office, advancing through the ranks from Resident Deputy to Patrol Corporal, Narcotics Detective, Patrol Sergeant, Chief Deputy, and ultimately Sheriff. In 2008, he was elected Sheriff of Clearwater County and served for 18 years. As Chief Deputy and Sheriff, he oversaw all divisions of the agency, including Patrol, Detectives, Dispatch, Jail Operations, Civil, Court Security, Driver’s Licensing, and Fleet Maintenance.
He holds Idaho POST certifications at the Basic, Intermediate, Supervisor, Management, and Executive levels. Chris has been deeply involved in statewide leadership, serving twice as President of the Idaho Sheriff’s Association, one of only three sheriffs to hold that distinction. He has also served on the Idaho Association of Counties Board of Directors, chaired legislative and justice committees, and contributed at the national level through the National Association of Counties Board of Directors.
In addition to his law enforcement leadership, Chris has served for over 20 years as a volunteer firefighter and currently serves as Assistant Fire Chief for the Sunnyside Rural Fire District.
At Command Sourcing, Chris leverages his extensive operational and executive experience to help agencies evaluate and implement practical, field-tested solutions that enhance officer safety, facility security, and community protection.
